Mystery

AWO.8m.com, conducted an exclusive interview with The Mystery on Friday November 30th, 2001. The man of the unknown truly told his side of things.

awo.8m.com: How are you feeling physically?

Mystery: Well, physically, I could be doing a lot better. I haven't been lifting weights in months. Which in this business, is not a good practice. I have however been working at United Parcel Service in Chelmsford, MA since July. That has defintely been able to keep me going and give me a good workout.

awo.8m.com: Do you plan on getting back into the gym at sometime?

Mystery: With out a doubt. I will need to get back into shape especialy if this company is going to ever get started.

awo.8m.com: Lets talk about that. We all want the AWO to get started and become a strong force in backyard wrestling. But I think that you of all people, want this company to start up more than anyone here.

Mystery: Oh man, I so do! I had my heart set out on making the AWO the number one company in backyard wrestling, and I still do. I still believe that this whole thing can succeed and get way over with the people. There is no doubt in my mind that we can do this. But the keyword there, is WE. We need to do this together. Not as two owners trying to do things each their own way.

awo.8m.com: When you say WE, you must meen The Assassin?

Mystery: Yes.

awo.8m.com: All of us want to know exactly what went on in 1999, that made the AWO come to a screetching holt. Tell us what happend.

Mystery: It may sound real dumb, but for as long as I have enjoyed wrestling, I have always wanted to start or own my own wrestling company. I used to do backyard wrestling when I was younger with my friends. We always had a lot of fun. But for some reason most of my friends didn't want to do it anymore. We stopped. But still I always had that burnning desire to start something one day. I wanted to start something tha was going to be an instant hit with people. And I honestly knew that if I was to begin a backyard wrestling group, that I would be abl to run it in a sense that nobody would be left out. No favorites would be played. Everybody would be equal and have the same equal opportnities to be main eventers or champions. I just knew that I could do it. So, I had always talked about it with my best friend of now nine years, The Assassin. I think at one point he must have thought that I was crazy. But he actually started to show some interest in it as well. It never really shocked me, but I knew that with him and myself working together to produce this bacyard wrestling group, we could really take off with it. So we thought up ideas day after day and night after night, until finally we put them into action. We had a lot of fun at first. Everybody did. But as time went on, we seemed to start arguing and we started to have different creative ideas. We each thought that our own ideas would work and that we did not even want to compromise with each other anymore. We used to compromise and talk things over for hours at a time. And in the end, the result would be great. But things just got worse.

awo.8m.com: OK, so now we are up to the point where you and The Assassin stared to have creative differences. We all know that every major wrestling company out there has had creative differenes at one time or another. What went wrong to make that bad pattern start?

Mystery: I honestly think that Assassin never really wanted to do this backyard thing. I think that he was into it only if he had total control over it. Which he didn't have total control over AWO, he had 50 percent ownershp and I as well had 50 percent ownership. So as you see, in order for anything to work or een take place, there has to be a final decision mae every time. For us, we just couldn't come together anymore because we couldn't stand each other anymore. I mean it mademe real sad, not because my dream had so many roadblocks, but becuase it tore apart our friendship. I mean we were the best of friends! We were almost inseparable. Keyword here is ALMOST. It turned out that he didn't want to keep this going, he relly didn't care. Well it was my dream and I did want to keep it going.

awo.8m.com: OK, so now what led up to the match between you two? The match that determined the fate of the AWO.

Mystery: I still try to forget that day back in 1999. But I really can't. It is something that haunts me everyday of my life, even till right now as I speak to you. We ended up by losing everybody. I mean everybody! All of our wrestlers fled the company. Most of them went to CBW, Championship Backyard Wrestling, and the others just didn't to get involved with backyrd wrestling ever again. So I told Assassin that if he wants to run the AWO the right way, we need to compromise. I told him that we had already lost everybody. He didn't care. But I did. So we ended up by having a match that would, as you said, determine the fate of the AWO. We would go owner versus owner. The winner would have total control over the AWO. We had the match and in the end the better man won on that day.

awo.8m.com: So you are saying that Assassin is the better man, or was the better man?

Mystery: Yeah, on that day.

awo.8m.com: Well, Assassin took total control over the AWO, he still owns it even as we speak. How do you think he has handled things thus far?

Mystery: Horribly! I mean, at first our website had only contents of that one match. Mystery vs. Assassin. And for almost two years, awo.8m.com, had nothing on it. No pictures of anything. And if you went to the site all you would see is a big under construction sign and some no namer stating that the AWO is going to start up real soon and all kinds of bullshit! I mean, I had had enough at one point and I knew that I desperatly needed to get back into the AWO somehow. The Assassin did absolutly nothing with the company. He didn't have any shows, didn't try to get people to work for him, nothing!

awo.8m.com: Well, the website among other things, have changed for the better in the AWO. Thanks to you. How did you get yourself back into the AWO?

Mystery: It took a lot of hard work and lawyer involvment to do it, but it worked and I am back here in the AWO. My contact stated that I had power over reinstatment in the AWO. When Assassin took over the company, he forgot to render my contract null and void. So, I exercised my reinstatment power and brought myself back!

awo.8m.com: Well, it certainly has shown that there is a better influence on the AWO now. But in what capacity are you back in? Are you part owner again? What exactly is your job title?

Mystery: I am here on a mission. To bring the AWO to the prominence of being a succesful and popular backyard wrestling company. I am not part owner, I don't have any owership in my job description. I am strictly here as a wrestler. That is the only way I can be here right now. But with out the Assassin's kowledge, I have been able to transform awo.8m.com into what it is now. You have a job now, some of the office people have their jobs back, and I am sill trying to regain ownership. Once I regain owneship it will be for total control over everything and everybody in the AWO. From myself, to the Assassin, to you, all the way to the lady that waters the plants outside our office building! I will have total control and be able to have a weekly show like we had, and be able to make the AWO number one!
